When someone you love dies arranging their funeral can be a daunting task. We want to support you the best we can during this difficult time.

Funerals are a time of thanksgiving for a person’s life and an opportunity to commit them into God’s care.

A funeral should reflect the life and character of the deceased person. Our Vicar can help you to choose appropriate music, readings and poems. You do not have to have hymns, you may have other music which you’d prefer. It is usually advisable to book an organist, but please consult the Vicar on all matters concerning music in the church.

You do not need to be a church-goer to have a funeral service.

If you would like a loved ones funeral at St James or St Mildred’s Church, or if you would like one of our ministers to lead a funeral service at the crematorium please do get in contact using the details at the bottom of this page.
